We are looking for our next Barista to join the Roadie crew! The Barista role is a community facing position at our coffee lounge focused on building long lasting relationships with guests. As you build these relationships you will prepare and serve various types of beverages (coffee, tea, kombucha, beer, wine, etc.), learn and assist with preparing breakfast and lunch items, assist in baking operations, and connect guests to marketplace/deli offerings. Baristas develop a working knowledge of of all menus, make recommendations based on preferences, up-selling special items and taking orders.

To be successful in this role, you should have customer service skills and knowledge of how brewing equipment operates. Roadie team members understand the importance of being the best team member possible. You should be able to work varying shifts on weekdays and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers as they enter
• Direct customers to menus and answer their questions regarding ingredients
• Take orders while paying attention to details (e.g. preferences of milks, flavors, sizing, etc.)
• Prepare beverages and food items following Lincoln Road recipes
• Serve beverages and prepared food
• Receive and process payments (cash and credit cards)
• Keep the bar area clean, learning to open and close the bar
• Assisting with maintaining stock of clean dishes
• Performing cleaning and light maintenance processes on brewing and grinding equipment
• Comply with health and safety regulations
• Communicate customer feedback to managers and work with team on new menu items
• Maintain overall cleanliness of spaces, performing weekly cleaning tasks

Skills

• Previous work experience as a Barista or Waiter/Waitress
• Hands-on experience with brewing equipment
• Knowledge of sanitation regulations
• Flexibility to work various shifts
• Basic math skills
• Ability to gauge customers’ preferences
• Excellent communication skills
• High school diploma; relevant training is a plus

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $12.00 - $14.00 per hour
